Top 10 Men of Sex and the City

Posted on

I was watching Sex and the City the movie and I got inspired to make my top 10 men of SATC.  I thought this would be easy, but it was quite hard to pick 10, since each man has pros and cons to them.  Many people may question why I didn’t put Mr. Big on my list and this is because Mr. Big will always have a special place in my heart.  To me, he will always be number one, despite his faults.  Plus, I thought Mr. Big would be an obvious choice.

10.  Louis Leroy, USN

AKA Navy Stud

Even though, he was in only one episode, Louis Leroy made a huge impression.  What is there not to like? He was kind, soft spoken, and well-mannered.  Oh, I can’t forget to mention that oh-so cute sailors uniform.  I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for a man in uniform (or tuxedo).

9.  Jeremy

AKA Carrie's institutionalized High School sweetheart

Sigh…who doesn’t have a soft spot for their high school sweetheart.  My high school sweetheart, who was also my first love, is someone I think about off and on in my life.  I don’t miss him or anything, but I do often times wonder “What if.”  This is why I have a soft spot for Jeremy.  Could you imagine having another chance with the person who you first fell in love with?

8.  Dr. Robert Leeds

AKA Doctor Love

He is young, fun, and romantic.  Come on, only he could pull off a giant size cookie with the words I love you on it.  Normally, that would look lame, but he made it look so romantic.  Too bad Miranda’s heart wasn’t into it.

7.  Trey MacDougal

AKA Charlotte's First Husband

Despite his overbearing mother, Bunny , and his up and down Schooner  sex life, he always kept it classy.  He gave Charlotte as much as he could, which included that awesome 5th Ave apartment after their divorce.  In the end, Trey couldn’t give Charlotte the one thing she really wanted, a baby.

6. and 5. Stanford Blatch and Anthony Marantino

AKA Carrie's and Charlotte's gay husband

Every girl needs a gay husband. That one person who can go clothes and boy shopping at the same time.  And who is not afraid to say, “Honey, those shoes are horrible.”  Nuff’ said.

4.  Smith Jerrod

AKA The Absolut Hunk

I thought Jerry Smith Jerrod was going to be one of the many men Samantha sleeps with and tosses away.  But Smith had different plans when it came to Samantha.  His plan was to be her boyfriend.  It wasn’t easy at first, for it took Samantha many months to even remember his name.  Even when Samantha was diagnosed with Cancer, he stood by her all the way.  I wished that Samantha and Smith ended up together, but that’s not in Samantha’s genes, let’s be honest.  So, in ode to the Absolut Hunk…here you go:

3.  Aiden Shaw

AKA The Carpenter

Another sigh…Aiden is that guy you pray to meet and marry.  Yup, he is THAT guy.  Tall, handsome, strong, funny, supportive, VERY FORGIVING, good with his hands (hee hee)…all around good guy.  I’ve always felt that Carrie was his Mr. Big.  I know that sounds weird, but I mean, the feelings that Carrie has for Mr. Big, Aiden had for her.  He can’t say no to Carrie, just watch Sex and the City 2.

2.  Harry Goldenblatt

AKA The Jewish Lawyer

At a first glance, Harry may not the most handsome guy from SATC and many wondered, “How did he GET her?”  Two seconds after seeing Harry’s interaction with Charlotte and it’s obvious why he landed on my number 2 pick for top SATC guy.  If Aiden was not available, I would want Harry.  In many ways, he is just like Aiden, but Harry has a more kind hearted gentle nature about him, which only makes Charlotte melt.  I believe Harry lives by these words, “Happy wife, happy life.”  I think all men should live by that rule.

1. Steve Brady

AKA The Bartender

Steve has always fought for Miranda’s love.  Their relationship has been through ups and downs with infidelity, unplanned pregnancy, and Steve’s lack of financial stability.  There is something about Steve that I can’t quite put my finger on.  There is nothing about Steve that I don’t like.

Okay, ladies and gents.  Here is my top 10 men of SATC.

What’s your list?
