Scarface: A Great Movie Minus The Bear

Yesterday, my BFF Ronald, from More Hopeless Than Romantic, and I went to watch Scarface.  This summer, I’ve noticed many EPIC movies coming back to the movie screen for one time only.  It’s great for the fans who never seen it in the movie theaters and for the fans who remember seeing this movie in the theaters 10-20 years ago.  Two months ago, I really wanted to see Back To The Future on the big screen and always regretted at the fact that I didn’t go.  So, when I saw the Scarface poster, I tried hard to persuaded my friends to come along.

I’ve only seen Scarface on TV a handful of times.  Let me just tell you, the Scarface on TV is not the same movie in the movie theater.  It’s better!  Something about the surround sound made his famous quotes more powerful and the gun fight in the end…WOW!

Ron and I

All in all, my experience was awesome.  It would’ve been EPIC if it weren’t for the Bear.  Who is the bear?  Well, a Bear is an individual that comes alone to the movie theater, who sit next you (even tho, there is many available seats around you) that takes your arm rest.  You may call them differently.  The reason why I called this individual a Bear is because when he ate his popcorn, it sounded like two bears making love.  Ya, it was that sexy…not.

There is many codes in life.  The most famous ones are Bro Codes.  Well, there is a thing called theater codes. Although, this is not the number 1 theater codes it’s still top five:

Whomever sit first has first dibs on the arm rest.

I was sitting in my seat a whole hour before the Bear showed up.  So, I claimed that arm rest.  As soon as I saw him try to do the sneak attack, I made a vow that I was not to remove my arm during this movie.  Needless to say, we shared MY arm rest for the whole movie.  Awkward as heck, but I was not going no where.   In my mind, we were having a mini war, but I was determined to stand my ground.  I have no clue who won this war or even if he thought anything of it.

All and all, I had fun with my Bestie.  It wasn’t girl-time, but it was still fun!

If you had the opportunity to watch an old school movie in the theater, which would it be?

OMG, I remember watching Clueless in the movie theater. I was obsessed with Cher’s knee high socks. I BEGGED my mom to buy me some at Liberty House. Once I got it, I thought I was so cool at school. LOL. OMG, so lame. I wonder if I have any photos of that.

UGH, I wish I could mimic what the Bear sounded like. It was bad. HAHA. Back to the Future was at Ward and Scarface was at Dole. What I do is open up a Fandango account and look up specific theaters and a whole list of upcoming movies pop out. Also, Fanthom (http://www.fathomevents.com) specializes on movie events for Dole. I’m kinda obsessed with watching re-relased movies. I’m just praying that I don’t have to sit next to the Bear again. GAWD! LOL
