10 Movies I’ve Never Seen

***This post was inspired by The Movie Blog8.  Check out his top 10 movies.***

I’m not a huge movie goer.  I blame these following things: 1. tickets are too expensive  2.  expensive crappy food 3. no alcohol.  Most of the time I wait until the DVD comes out.  For whatever reason I’ve missed these movies, that some say are a “must see” or “cult classic”.  To this day, I am embarrassed to say that I haven’t watch these movies…yet.

1.  Memento

Before Inception, this is the movie that all my friends said was a mindf*ck.  What is there not to like…suspense, action, and twist ending.  For some odd reason, I just haven’t gotten around watching this movie yet.

2.  Requiem For A Dream

Another mind bending movie.  I don’t know much about this movie and I heard the less I know the more I will understand the movie.  I don’t know if that’s true.

3.  The Shawshank Redemption

There is something about this movie that doesn’t make me want to watch it.  I don’t know why.  There is great writing and actors, but still I have no desire to watch it.

4.  500 Days Of Summer

Joseph Gordon Levitt and Zooey Deschannel are two very good reason to watch this movie.  I even have the DVD.  What’s wrong with me?!?

5.  It’s A Wonderful Life

I know the story line, but I’ve never seen this movie ever.  Am I weird for not seeing this movie ever in my life?

6.  A Clockwork Orange

I don’t know if I’ll ever watch this movie.  I’m not down with the whole raping thing and all.  Amongst the movie community, this movie is a must see.

7.  The Green Mile

It’s always on TV, but I never care to watch it.  I’m starting to notice that maybe I don’t like prison movies.  Maybe because I can’t relate or something.  I don’t know.

8.  No Country For Old Men

I love horror movies and I’ve never seen a Coen Brothers movie that I didn’t like.  So, No Country For Old Men would be right up my ally.  Nope I’ve never seen it.  And I think I even have the DVD.

9.  Donnie Darko

I have no clue what this movie is about, but every time someone brings up Donnie Darko an hour long conversation starts.  That usually means an hour that I have no clue what anyone is saying.  HAHA.

10.  Scott Pilgrim VS The World

I love Michael Cera and Edgar Wright.  Out of all the movies, this one is most likely will be watched.  I just need to find a way to get this movie.

Here are just some of the movies that I have yet to watch.  I get embarrassed admitting to people that I haven’t watched these movies yet.  Unfortunately, there is much more.

What movies are you embarrassed to admit that you haven’t watched yet?

Ha! You’re a riot! Okay, the movies I would encourage you to see is (I know, I know, but I gotta do it) Wonderful Life, The Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption. Wonderful Life can be dubbed a Xmas movie and so turns many off for one reason or another. But the message is great and it’s truly a movie and makes you feel warm and cozy. Everybody needs that sometimes. The Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption I saw on regular TV and was blown away. Girl, see these prison movies if you don’t see anything else. Acting, story line, everything was on point. I like movies that take you somewhere good – whether it’s a happy place or just peaceful. These two will make you feel a cross between the two.

    Happy movie-going!

Hey Dita! Okay, okay…twist my arm…LOL. I totally agree with you; I should watch these movies. I’m a big baby and watching these movies will make my eyes puffy. I even cry at those ASPCA commercials. But, you made these movies sound life changing, so I should just give them a try. Okay, you’ve convinced me. I’m doing it. HAHA

Thanks for stoping by. I hope to see you real soon!

requiem is FU*KED! if you want a movie to turn you completely off drugs (or deter your kids from trying drugs), watch this movie.

memento is awesome; you have to watch it more than once because there are so many things going on and when you watch it a second (or third) time, you discover other stuff you missed!

shawshank is awesome; and clockwork is so weird.

Kat…dang girl, I can’t believe you watched all these movies. I heard the same thing about Requiem from my friends. I don’t know if my ADHD can handle memento. We’ll see.

You are the second person to recommend Shawshank, so I might make that my next Jen’s cinema.

I love Amelie. If you haven’t seen that I’d recommend it. Just make sure there are no young kids around. Some parts of it can be briefly shocking. O’Brother where art thou, is another favourite of mine. Requiem For A Dream is beyond screwed up. I do not get what everyone is crazed about over this movie. All I can think is that it is so horrifying and god awful that people’s brains melt from the horrific images of the movie. It’s a great public service message. No doubt. But, I felt like I needed to shower for a week straight after seeing it. If you’re at all squeamish, I strongly recommend staying away from it.

Amelie is totally on my list to watch. I heard the singing in O’Brother is awesome! It was on iTunes for a long time, I remember that. Maybe one day, I’ll sit down and watch it.

I feel like I should watch Requiem, just to say I’ve watched it. I may not finish it, but at least I can say, I watched it. LOL Thanks for the heads up. I don’t want to be eating dinner while watching this movie. OH the horror!
