Lately, I’ve been thinking about my health a lot. For the past two years, I’ve been having dizzy spells. At first, my doctor thought it was my medication, so I stopped taking them. This particular medication is for my ADHD and although I need it for school, I can’t handle the dizzy spells. It’s been over a year since I stopped taking my meds and my dizziness has dramatically mellowed down, but once in while I’ll get dizzy. The worst part is that these spells are unpredictable. I once had a spell while driving, which totally freaked me out.
I’m actually going to see another doctor, maybe she can figure out what’s going on. *sigh* I hope it’s not a toomah.
Now I ask you, what’s been on your mind most lately?

Omg, that’s scary! Especially having a dizzy spell while driving. I would completely freak out. Hell, I freak out if I’m driving and a bee gets too close to me haha! Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about moving to the mainland. It’s something I’ve been thinking about off and on since high school. Last year, I thought 2012 would be the year I finally went for it — but things keep coming up that stop me from making the move (and stop me from saving money haha!). Maybe 2013? PS: You know what prescription you should get for ADHD?! Haha
LOL @ the bee part. I sometime duck down (in my car) when a bird flies too close to my windshield. It’s just a reflex and I always do it, too. LOL How sad is that!
I know what you mean about moving away from Hawai’i. I’ve been feeling like that too, but I don’t know enough money either. So, I’m going to try to move to Hilo and see how that goes. If I think I can go onto the mainland, I will. I’m totally scared and I’m worried about missing my family and money, but I think it’s something we all have to do.
dizziness can also be attributed to low blood sugar. when was the last time you had a full blood workup?
Girl, it’s been years! I need to see a doctor, I know. *sigh* I hope it’s something simple like low blood sugar and not a tumor. I don’t know why, but I alway link it back to a tumor. LOL Like if I have a pain on my side, “OMG, I have a tumor.” I say it jokingly, because I don’t want it to be true. Is that weird?
Well, my health is always on my mind. I’ve had a horrible run with my health over the past few years but it’s getting better. You know, funnily enough I started taking an ADHD medication when I started getting dizzy spells as well. I stopped and it did help but not completely. In the end, it turns out that it was probably the tipping stone of the scales for my liver. My liver was in complete crisis mode and I had stones packing my gallbladder nice and tight. My regular doctor didn’t have any advice other than to reduce the stress in my life so I tried a naturopath. She helped. I really wish you the best of luck with figuring out what it is that’s causing it. I know it can be super upsetting.
That is funny. You know what’s funnier, I don’t have a gallbladder. I had it removed, because there was stones stuck inside. Anyway, could this be the reason??? This is sounding like an episode of House. LOL
I’m interested in naturopath. I practically grew up on all natural products. Do you take or do anything for your ADHD? I’m thinking about going back on it, because my grades are slipping a little bit. Any advice?
Have you thought about yoga Jen, its a good discipline and it can help you regulate yourself physically if/when you have a dizzy spell, may even help with your ADHD. I’ve always been a bit of an adventurous hippie at heart and have moved around a lot, so its always surprised me when I’ve met people who haven’t lived outside of Hawaii. With a little preparation you could easily move to the mainland for a brief period with intent to move back, if you get comfortable you stay otherwise you move back.
I’ve never fully tried yoga before. I’ve done those yoga videos, but it’s not the same. Is there any yoga school you recommend? I’ve heard about hot yoga, but I heard people get dizzy from the heat, so I won’t be trying that anytime soon.
I do feel a little weird not have lived off the rock, but I do love the mainland. I’m pretty proud to know how to properly order a philly cheese steak and that the cheapest East Coast burger is White Castle. 5 Guys burger is one of the most complicated things to order, but it’s worth it in the end. What else…OH, animal style In and Out burger is a must. LOL Cracker barrel will always be a comfort food restaurant. Lone Star peanuts are the best “waiting for your table” food. LOL I can go on and on. I shouldn’t let finance keep me from moving, but it’s so hard to take that first step. Hopefully, one day!
Hope everything is ok. As I get older, I think everything might be cancer, which is not funny, but also funny. Ai! Anyways, I’m here via MauiShopGirl. Cant wait to read more about you and hope you get to the doc’s asap…you know, before you start telling yourself that you don’t need to…I always talk myself out of seeing the doc!!! LOL.
Thanks, I hope everything is fine too. I agree with your statement about everything might be cancer and although it’s just a joke, a small part of ourselves kinda believes it. LOL I’m always joking about that and sometimes my friends get upset.
I’ve gain quite a bit of weight, which is the reasons why I don’t go to the doctors. I know, it’s totally vain of me, but I am quite ashamed about it *sigh*
Thank you for visiting and taking the time to read and comment. I really appreciate it. Isn’t MauiShopGirl great?! Anyways, I’ll let you know how it goes and I just subscribed to your blog, so I can’t wait to read your adventures as well.
