Weekly Photo Challenge: Unusual

It’s not everyday you see a house on top a simple pickup trunk in Hawai’i.  So, when one passed me by on the way to school, I just had to take a picture.  I don’t condone taking pictures while driving, but come on (in GOB’s voice from Arrested Development), I just had to take a picture.

I must admit, the two house plants gives the truck house a nice touch.  It gives it a slight homey feel, don’t you think?  The front door, which I have the exact same one attached to my house, is nice and sturdy.

My only regret is that I was not able to take a look inside.  I wonder if there is a mini fridge, maybe a bean bag inside.  I guess only God knows.

Last week’s challenge: Contrast

What’s your “unusual” photo?

That’s so trippy! I totally want to see inside. I wonder if someone really hangs out or lives in there, or if it’s just some sort of weirdo thing that they use for extra storage in the truck or something haha!

    • March 19, 2012 at 4:51 PM #

HAHA. I have no clue. I imagine that it’s either a storage unit for his gardening supplies or his bedroom. LOL I’ve only seen this once and I always leave my house every morning, same time, and same route. Let me know if you spot him one day, too.

You should’ve followed it and see where it ended up! And then became friends with the owner. Sang some karaoke… go beach. You know, the usual.

    • March 19, 2012 at 4:42 PM #

LOL. You are right, but the true local thing for me to do is bring some kind of gift like, a 6 pack of beers, liliha bakery cocoa puffs, etc.

      • March 19, 2012 at 5:09 PM #

        Yum… I want cocoa puffs!

      • March 20, 2012 at 4:19 PM #

Sure…just gotta come home and visit, girl!

That’s so random! I love the picture. It doesn’t look like he was just transporting it, does it? Plants and everything. Awesome.

    • March 20, 2012 at 4:18 PM #

LOL. I have no clue. I hope he was transporting it, but Hawai’i has some random people. So, I wouldn’t be surprise if it was actually attached to the truck. LOL

Hhmmm that gives new meaning to the term “mobile home.” Would be funny if someone actually lived there and they drove their house around like that all the time.

    • March 20, 2012 at 4:17 PM #

That would be HILARIOUS if that was their home. Can you imagine how time you will save commuting? I would just park a few streets down from my working place and 15 mins before work starts, i’ll just roll right in with my house. LOL

That’s really interesting LOL It’s definitely not something you see in Hawaii everyday. hehehe I wonder who lives in there too or what it might look like inside.

    • March 20, 2012 at 4:01 PM #

I wonder too. It’s not everyday you see that, uh? It makes me wonder more about it.

Love it! The houseplants are hilarious. Great photo.

    • March 20, 2012 at 4:00 PM #

The houseplants does give it a classy feel. LOL

Thanks for taking the time to not only ready my blog, but to comment as well. I hope to see you again.

Jen was that some sort of homemade mobil home, or were they transporting some sort of shed? regardless that is funny pic.

    • March 20, 2012 at 3:59 PM #

I have no clue, but it was a sight to see, for sure!

I am so totally random. I would totally live in something like that if I didn’t have kids. I love to travel. What a brilliant way to manage it. However, it does seem a bit strange on an island. There’s only so far you can go but hey – I still think it’s pretty cool. I used to tell my husband, before all the kids, I’d be happy in a shack on the beach in hawaii. This totally fits that bill lol.

    • March 21, 2012 at 9:54 PM #

You are not random whatsoever! You know, a shack can be arrange for you ;) We have a lot of those here….you already have one friend on the island (me!). Doesn’t a mai tai on the beach sound good right now? LOL Okay, I’ll stop bribing you.

I’d click “Like” a second time if I could just for the Arrested Development comment! Interesting picture, too!

HAHA. “Hey, Hermano!” Another person who loves Arrested Development! You are officially on my “cool people” list.

    • March 21, 2012 at 9:50 PM #

I know, right? LOL Isn’t that weird, but cool at the same time. I’ve only seen it that one time. I’m dying to see it again.

I so woulda snapped a shot too, well in Honolulu where traffic is moving at a slower pace. On Maui, I’m driving 50+ on the highway.

I love the plants and the screen like door, so like a house. Maybe they own a business and it’s a quirky marketing thing. Have you ever gone to http://tinyhouseblog.com/ They have some cool teeny weeny homes that can be transported.

    • March 21, 2012 at 9:39 PM #

I’ve never heard of that website. I took a look at it before commenting back at you. Boy, those are some awesomely cool houses. HAHA. This site is going to entertain me during my computer class tomorrow morning. LOL

  12. March 22, 2012 at 5:48 AM #

Round here they move big three bedroom mobile homes on the back of trucks. I wish they were smaller like in your picture…

    • March 24, 2012 at 10:19 AM #

Whoa, I’ve never seen that before. I mean, I’ve seen it on TV or the movies, but never in real life. That would freak me out a little bit.

Thanks for taking the time to rad and comment on my blog. That’s awesome. I hope to see you again!

  13. March 23, 2012 at 2:34 AM #

that sure is an unusual sight :)

    • March 24, 2012 at 10:15 AM #

It was fairly early in the morning, I think 7:30AM. At first, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I actually rubbed my eyes. LOL

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my blog. I hope to see you again.

  14. March 23, 2012 at 2:47 AM #

wow that’s amazing! would’ve loved to see what’s inside too :)

    • March 24, 2012 at 10:14 AM #

Right?!? It looks nice and roomy inside. I could make myself at home. LOL

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my blog. I really appreciate it. I hope to see you again.

  15. March 24, 2012 at 10:38 PM #

That is a priceless moment! Sometimes I see a huge mobile home being transported in a freeway and it never fails to amaze me. awesome post!

    • March 25, 2012 at 4:46 PM #

I’ve never seen that in real life before. I remember this one scene in Lethal Weapon 4, where Riggs flies through a home that is being transported on the freeway. It would be cool to see a huge home being transported, but I guess I have to settle for this shack. LOL
