Wanderlust: My Favorite Travel Apps

Wanderlust is my travel series.  Wanderlust is defined as “A strong desire to travel”.  This Wanderlust will be taking place in Europe.  Come and join my Wanderlust adventures.

I’ve decided to share some of my favorite traveling apps.  It’s constantly changing and there is so many, but here are some that works for me.  If there is an app that you love while traveling, please share it.  I am always on the hunt for some good apps.

1.  Oanda Currency converter

This is great app because it has all the countries.  I like the fact that I can add those “money exchange fee”.  It’s a must when you are trying to convert your USD.  Great for budget travelers like myself.

2.  My TSA

Have you ever wonder if you could carry on matches or hair gel?  This app will tell you.  You can simply just type it in and they will let you know if you can carry it on or if you should just check it in. Also, it will give you up to date information on delays, temperature, and TSA wait times.

3.  Expenditure

This is more of an budget app then a travel app.  I still like using it when I’m traveling.  It will keep a record of how much you spend, what you spend the most on, and your overall budget.  It even coverts your USD to another currency.  This is why this app stands out more than other budget apps.

4.  Wi-Fi Finder

As a blogger, I need Wi-Fi.  This app will find free and paid Wi-Fi.  It’s a pretty simple app, no frills.

5.  TripColor

This app is a photo journal app.  It’s a great way to save all your photos that you took along the way.  I like looking at other people’s journals.  If you are a fan of Instagram, then you will like this app a lot.

6.  Cultures

This is an app that teaches you the customs in the country that you are visiting.  I know some countries view peace signs and the thumbs up as a threat.  So, it’s important to know what are unacceptable or acceptable behavior.  Another great feature with this app is that you can learn how to say hello in any language.  I’ve found that if you try to speak their language, people are more likely to help you out.

What a great list of apps! When I went to Japan like 8 yrs ago, I did most of these tasks in a cute journal. Fun to look at. Not much useful info ;) . Have fun girl! Use that Wifi and update us!

The photo journal looks like a lot of fun, but not the most useful app out there. Lol.

Yeah I feel way behind the curve on apps. I so don’t use them, so you could have made up your entire list and I’d never know, but you list books and such and I can totally follow. Apps to me is like learning a new language. lol

Haha. These apps are so user friendly that you’ll be a pro at using them. Trust me.

You know what I’d like? I’d like an app that has not just TSA requirements, but all the international ones. Wouldn’t that be convenient? I’ve been traveling before, carrying luggage that met TSA requirements but once I was out of the country – I ran into luggage restrictions I hadn’t expected. So annoying. Hope you’re enjoying your trip!

Omg! What a great idea. I think you just stumbled into a million dollar idea right there.

These apps look great! Are they all free, or do you need to buy some of them?

I’m so cheap, so I bet all of them are free or cost no more than a dollar. Lol. Try them out and let me know what you think.

You that tsa app has saved my butt a lot of times. I hardly use it, but when I do I thank god it’s there. Lol

Wi-Fi Finder is very useful, but you need wi-fi to use it abroad. :( sad paradox

Awe, :( LOL That’s the flaw of apps, you need WiFi or internet connection to use it. WTF.

      Greetings from Prague.
