I was awarded by 3 Guys 1 Movie with the Liebster Award. I am so happy and thankful for being considered for this award. It’s nice to be acknowledged by other bloggers/peers.
Like all blogging awards, the Liebster Award has specific rules that each awardee has to follow. It may sound like a lot of work, but if followed, your readers will learn so much about you. This is the reason why I’m doing this and I hope the people I nominate will do the same. If not, it’s okay, I totally understand.
Here’s the rules:
1. Each person must post 11 things about themselves
2. Answer the 11 questions the person who has given the award has set for you.
3. Create 11 questions for the people you are giving the award to.
4. Choose 11 people and send them a link to your post.
5. Go to their page and tell them.
The Guys behind the blog:
3 Guys and 1 Movie is run by two brothers and one friend who has a huge passion for all things movies. Instead of getting one person’s opinion, you get three! I find their movie reviews to be very educational, thorough, and thought provoking. Not only do they review new movies, but old ones as well. I especially like their “It Came From The Bin” posts. I wish I could comment more, but most of the time I haven’t seen the movie. They are three great fun-loving guys with three separate opinions. If you are thinking about watching a movie, but not sure if it’s worth the money or time, check these guys out before you go. You’ll thank me later.
11 Things about Jen:
- I’m a reality show junkie. Some of my favorites are Auction Hunters, World’s Worst Tenants (newest favorite), Ghost Adventures, and The Dead Files.
- I’ve fought (American-style Kickboxing) in a ring twice and cage once.
- My frist language was Japanese, but after the age of three I switched to English.
- I don’t know Japanese. After the age of three, my parents stopped speaking to me in Japanese per my Preschool teachers.
- I hate math. It took me four semesters to pass one math class.
- I have 1/4 samurai blood.
- Never watched a full episode of Glee.
- Never broken a bone…yet.
- In and Out, Sonic, and White Castle will always be my top three favorite fast food restaurants.
- Don’t let the makeup fool you, I love to get my hands dirty.
- Deathly afraid of huge/flying cockroaches and spiders.
11 Questions from 3 Guys 1 Movie:
1. What was the first blog post that you wrote?
LOL. My first post was about my day in school. It wasn’t thought provoking, but more like a diary entry. Wow, look how far I’ve come.
2. Red Sox or Yankees?
Red Sox. I love watching baseball, but don’t really follow it.
3. The toilet paper roll should it roll down from the top or from underneath?
Huge debate in my mind. I say…paper roll from the top ALWAYS. It looks cleaner and easier to tear away.
4. The last thing I stole was a….
Probably a pen. I always unconsciously steal pens. The last thing I consciously stole…maybe candy. I can’t remember that far back.
5. What was the worst injury you ever suffered?
I once pulled my groin muscles while pole vaulting in High School.
6. If you did not blog about film what would you be blogging about?
Traveling. Hands down! Or maybe food.
7. What kind of car do you drive? ( yes I stole that from Swingers)
A grandma car, as I’ve been told. It’s a four door 1998 Toyota Camry.
8. Have you ever eaten a pickled egg?
No, but I’ve eaten Bulut before. Bulut is a half developed duck/chicken egg. Once you get over the feathers and beak, it’s quite tasty.
9. What’s in your pull order? (If you don’t understand this question the answer is nothing)
Nothing.
10. Have you ever fired a gun?
No, but a airsoft gun…yes.
11. Do you own an iPhone or two tin cans and a string?
iPhone 4s, baby! I can’t wait for the 5.

Congrats on your award!!!
Thanks, Jeremy! You should answer some of my questions, if you want. I would like to get to know everyone, regardless if you did or didn’t get the award. Of course, if you don’t want to, you don’t have to.
Congratulations girl! Ya done good!
Awe, thanks. I don’t really deserve it, but glad to be awarded regardless.
Congrats on your reward Jen! Very cool. I’m not nominated but I’ll answer the Q’s anyways.
What’s your biggest accomplishment? I’m still alive despite the odds! Macabre? Probably. But true and I’m very thankful, proud, and feel incredibly lucky.
If you could go back to college again, what would you major in? If you never been to college, what would you major in if you went? Wow, that’s hard. I might do Art. I love several mediums and think it’s really fun.
Who’s your favorite family member and why? My husband. He makes my world feel balanced and happy just by being close to me.
What memory would you re-live again? Being in Pisa with my husband, kid free for the first time in too long.
What’s the last thing you won? A baseball cap at a game.
What’s the best thing about the 90′s? Grunge music (Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden et al.)
What the worst thing about the 90′s? High school
What TV commercial do you not like? I typically only watch video on demand so I’m often spared most commercials. Ah! Wait – the Panera ones irritate me. Fresh dancing food being magically chopped up with quirky little cliche ickiness all around. Yeah. That’s annoying.
If you could be in any movie, which one would it be? Just one? Well, my answer would probably change on any given day depending on my mood but for today, I’d have to say Whip It.
If you could travel anywhere, where would it be and why? Marseilles. I’ve seen the pictures, now I just want to touch it for real.
How did our blogs meet? I think I read a comment of yours on another blog I’d stumbled onto and your comment was exactly what I’d been about to say. It was quirky, smart, friendly and funny so I had to go check out your site. Your site has never let me down. Btw, I think I had trouble with my connection when trying to comment on your Auschwitz II post. That was so incredible Jen. The pics, the stories, the descriptions of the smells – wow. Well done. Have fun and congratulations again!
@Rachel: Thanks for answering the questions! If I could nominate unlimited people, I would definitely add you to the list….I hope you know that.
I can see you as an art major…or maybe fashion.
Awe…that’s cute that you picked your husband. Or did he write that…nah, I’m just kidding. He is one lucky man.
I’ve never been to Pisa. ARGH! LOL I remember you posted a really yummy pasta picture on your blog from Pisa. I wished I went.
Yep, grunge was great in the 90′s. I guess a close reminder of the grunge era is Foo Fighters. I love the Foo Fighters.
YES!!! High school was brutal.
Paneara….LOL. I love their soups, but we don’t have one in Hawai’i, so we don’t get there commercials too often.
Marseilles….sounds like heaven to me. If you go, can I tag along?
Awe, thanks for the wonderful comments. I always forget how I meet other blogs, so that’s why I asked this question. It’s good to remember how we met. I’m glad that we did. Now…we just have to meet in real life. ONe day!
Sorry about the whole connection problem with my last Auschwitz post. Thanks for reading it, tho. I really appreciate it, like always.
Congrats on the award! Fun to learn new things about you.
At first I didn’t understand the title of “Worst Tenants” but that show is interesting. The things people do are horrendous! I love the intensity of the big bald guy when he gets talking to the camera. I wonder if they hired him for the show or he really was a landlord rep.
You’ve been in THE CAGE? Cool! You do seem like a tough gal
.
Too bad about the Japanese! But cool about the samurai blood. Does that mean you want an honorable death or something. 1/4 is a lot!
And who isn’t afraid of flying cockroaches?
And pole vaulting too? WHOA! And first time I accidentally bought bulut, I nearly passed out when I cracked open the egg. I’m not that adventurous!
Thanks for tagging me & saying that you appreciate our friendship because I totally agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If hubby doesn’t post anything today on the blog, I got answers for you! Tks again!
@Lisa: OMG, I love “Worst Tenants”. It makes me feel better in a weird way. Half the time, I’m thinking…”What the….” LOL That big bald guy looks mean, but he is really sweet. I can tell. He is always respectful, until someone acts out of line. There was this one episode where this girl was pretending to be the landlord and was renting out all these apartments. She used to work for the actual landlord, but felt that he didn’t pay her enough. So, she decided to steal it from him. So crazy!
I’m really not that tough…just crazy. BUT…crazy in that fun Zach Galifianakis sorta of way, not Charlie Sheen crazy. LOL
I can only do an honorable death 1/4 of my body. LOL Nah, Japanese are crazy with that sort of stuff. I’m too Americanized for that.
I was not a good pole vaulter. I was too short, but I had fun doing it. LOL
I really appreciate you participating. I think you would be a great Jason Bourne girl. LOL
Thanks for sending the award my way! I actually got it sent to me and passed it on to you lol!
http://time-wellspent.com/2012/08/10/internet/liebster-award
Pole vaulting? I would have LOVED to have tried that!
@Jaina: HAHA. Isn’t that funny? Well, I guess that means we think alike…we must be geniuses. LOL I’ll go check it out and comment back to ya. I can’t wait to read your 11 random facts.
I was a terrible pole vaulter, because I’m so short. I’m glad that my coach was super supportive. I had a lot of fun.
I felt I should answer your questions as you answered mine. It’s like telling someone you know a secret but then not telling them!
What’s your biggest accomplishment?
I do not know. I’m not saying that to be modest, but recently I’ve actually begun to try and think of what I think my biggest accomplishment is and I’m drawing a blank! In the grand scheme of things, I don’t see anything I’ve done as huge accomplishments just your normal sorta every day things. Is that bad?
If you could go back to college again, what would you major in? If you never been to college, what would you major in if you went?
College is a bit different between the States and UK. I think your college is the equivalent to our sixth form where we pick 3 or 4 subjects to take to a-level exams and then go to uni. So we don’t major in any individual subject. Though if I were to go back and change a subject, I might add in sport science or physiotherapy. We didn’t have that option where I was, but I’ve always been interested in the science behind us. But not in a “i want to be a doctor” sort of way. Well, not anymore!
Who’s your favorite family member and why?
Ooof! That’s a tough question. I don’t know. Perhaps my mum. Why? She’s my mum! It’s always quite easy to talk to her. My brother’s been great too. Since he moved out into his own place we’ve got a proper relationship rather than just bickering. And my dad’s been a great help in getting the nitty gritty bits sorted for starting up my own freelance company. They’re all my favourite!
What memory would you re-live again?
I’m really stuck on this question. There are memories I want to re-live again and play out differently. But it’s not healthy to think like that! I wouldn’t mind reliving my graduation from uni. I’ve got the graduation family photo and we all just look so happy.
What’s the last thing you won?
This award? If that doesn’t count, I think I won about £10 on the lottery a few months ago. Oh… on my birthday!
What’s the best thing about the 90′s?
The silly action films. There were so many and they were so much fun!
What the worst thing about the 90′s?
The music! It had a few great hits, but honestly, it was nothing compared to the power ballads of the 80s.
What TV commercial do you not like?
The ads for Go Compare website to compare insurance – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_-9QFvhQWo there’s a few of them and each one as annoying as the last.
If you could be in any movie, which one would it be?
Maybe Inception. Or The Bourne Supremacy/Ultimatum. Switch me out for Julia Stiles’ Nicky. 1 thing, I love her hair in those films and another, I love those films.
If you could travel anywhere, where would it be and why?
I am itching to go everywhere! From Vietnam to Brazil to Hawaii. For me it’s the tropics. I love any tropical location. The food, the rainforests, the wildlife.
How did our blogs meet?
I think I might have seen your comment over at Fogs’ Movie Reviews and I just sorta followed you from there! If I am ever in your neck of the woods or if you’re ever over this way, I would love to meet up – for one thing, you are just the sort of adventurous foodie I would love to go out and have food with! None of my friends are as adventurous as you!
@Jaina: I find your Uni to be very fascinating. I never stop learning.
That is so cute that your favorite family member is your mum! AWE!!! YOu wanna hear something weird…I’ve never fought with my older brother. Not even once…not even a small argument. We never argue. I don’t know why. I guess we oddly get a long or we don’t spend enough time to argue. LOL
Reliving your graduation is an awesome memory to relive. I never experienced an actual graduation (you know what the whole toss the cap in the air). I never went to my High School graduation, which I don’t really regret now. But sometimes I feel like I missed out on something.
Speaking of 90′s music…was it just me or was the Spice Girls reunion on the closing ceremony on the Olympics felt a litte flat? Is it just me? IDK.
OH ya…that Go compare commercial is quite annoying. Damn…LOL.
Inception…yes, that would be an awesome movie to be in. Plus, you can kiss JLG. I would love to kiss him. LOL
Come to Hawai’i! WE will have great foodie adventures…for sure!
Say whaaaat? You kickbox? Sked a you now! Lol. I’ve totally been slacking on blogging so I’m totally answering these questions now in an effort to make up for lost time!
What’s your biggest accomplishment? Umm…I guess my kids. And the fact that I’m still alive. I had always thought I wouldn’t make it to 25.
If you could go back to college again, what would you major in? If you never been to college, what would you major in if you went? I am sort-of back in college majoring in Paralegal Studies. But I’m also trying to minor in accounting and would also like to take more writing classes. And when I’m all done, I want to go to design school.
Who’s your favorite family member and why? I guess my sister (for now). We were never really that close growing up because we’re about 7 years apart but we’re super close now.
What memory would you re-live again? I have a lot of awesome memories and I relive all of them in my mind.
What’s the last thing you won? A necklace from a giveaway on a blog. Lol.
What’s the best thing about the 90′s? Aaliyah.
What the worst thing about the 90′s? Sagging your pants.
What TV commercial do you not like? Octoloan! Omg once I saw that commercial I knew that the world is totally ending this year.
If you could be in any movie, which one would it be? Pssh. I’d make my own movie.
If you could travel anywhere, where would it be and why? Since my beach bum/moke days I’ve always wanted to travel to Tahiti but now that I’m older I think it be a great experience to travel through Europe!
How did our blogs meet? You commented me, I commented you back, and we fell in love. Lol.
@Duckie: No be scared, girl. I never use my kickboxing skills. LOL
Awesome answers!!!!
Design school, you should do it! That sounds like fun. I suck at math, so accounting would not be my top choice. I’m in Math 25, which is like beginning Algebra. I hate it, girl. Just hate it. I’m one of those Asians who isn’t good at math. What can I say! LOL
My sister is much older than me, too. I noticed when I was younger, we weren’t close, but now…we are super close, too. It’s funny how things work out, uh?
Congrats on your necklace! I hardly win anything, but when I do…I always remember it.
Aaliyah!!!!!! RIP! OMG, I love Aaliyah. There is no one as good as Aaliyah right now. I can’t think of one R&B singer that’s like Aaliyah, can you?
LOL, your last comment actually made me LOL’d. Yes, it was blog love at first sight. I wish real love was that easy!
I loved it___@ Winy
@Winy: Thanks!!!!!
