Next week Monday, I’ll be leaving sunny (super hot) Hawai’i for the cold windy city of Chicago. This is my third time in Chicago, but my first time being there during Halloween. I had a hard time figuring out what costume will go well with the cold weather. I found the perfect costume and even made majority of it myself. Here is a little hint…once receiving this wonderful silver metal, this Olympian was not impressed. I’ve already said too much.
Stay tuned for an update on my full costume.
What are you going to be on Halloween? What’s your favorite Halloween costume of all time?

Have fun! Chicago’s on my list of places I’d love to live but prob can’t afford haha. Can’t wait to see your costume — hope it’s a US gymnast in a leotard! Jk
It’s been a couple years since I dressed up, but it was pretty hilarious when I was a chola haha.
@Tiera: Thanks! I just came back. I had so much fun! But I’ll save that for the blog!
My costume is quite lame….no leotard. I wished, but Chi-town was too cold to do that.
i haven’t dressed up for halloween in years but K will be going as super girl. actually, from the minute she put on the costume, she has been wearing it ever since and we had to negotiate to take it off for bedtime!
@Kat:
Come on…with your bangin’ body, you gotta wear something slutty! Your husband will thank you for it. LOL I’m joking. Keep it classy on the outside…and trashy in the bedroom. That’s what I’ve been told is the key to a good marriage.
Awe, I want to see little K in her super girl costume. Maybe if I’m on instagram more, I would’ve seen it by now, uh? I remember I used to wear my Little Mermaid costume for months after Halloween.
I am not doing anything on Halloween. I will be locking up my house and going to sleep early. Best halloween costume for me was a saloon girl in like 4th grade cause I got to wear these cute heels and a garter and the dress was pink and black. I loved it. Although I have been a witch on more then one occasion and that outfit had heels too. I like heels, but only for special occasions and short periods of times.
I didn’t watch the olympics, so I got no clue who you are dressing up as. Have fun at the conference.
@Illusyon: What about Mr. D? Are you not going to go trick or treating with him? I’m lucky. My neighborhood doesn’t get a lot of action, so I haven’t handed out any candy for about 15 years. I remember when I was younger, that this neighborhood was filled with kids. I guess we all grew up.
OH MY, I would LOVE to see a picture of you in that saloon costume. Too cute!
Stay tuned, you’ll see who I’ll be for halloween.
Last year, I was Bellatrix Lestrange from Harry Potter. I haven’t thought about dressing up this year. It’s kind of down to the wire. Hmmm, not such a good thing considering I have a party to go to lol.
@Rachel: That is so cool that you were Bellatrix. Did you curry your hair and up it up in a messy bun? OH, I love when a costume requires big hair and cool makeup. I always love doing those things on Halloween. There is no way you can make a mistake, because everybody will think that you purposely made it that way.
Hahaha, what an awesome costume idea.. I hope I’m thinking of the right one. If not, I’m an idiot, or you’re just super clever. Can’t wait to see it and have fun in Chicago!
@Vicky: HAHA. Stay tuned! I think you know who I’m talking about and if you don’t, you are not an idiot! Hey…where’s your Europe blog post. I want to read your adventures!
Loved your costume! Does this have something to do with Chicago? I don’t know…anyways, I once sewed a princess dress to be the Princess from Mario Bros. My SIL was the toadstool, BIL was Mario, and Alan was Wario. It was awesome that year!
@Lisa:
My costume has nothing to do with Chicago, but I should’ve done something Chicago=based, uh? That is so cool that you sewed a princess outfit! That’s some talent right there. I’ve always wanted to sew. I want to see a picture of that!
