The end is here. We are finally done with Fifty Shades of Grey. Illusyon wrote a spoiler-free version, which you should check out! I, on the other hand, will be writing up my final thoughts on this book. This “final thoughts” will have spoilers, so please be aware. These are my honest opinions, which may or may not be the same as yours.
Read Illusyon’s wrap up.
Before I get into my final thoughts, I would like to thank everyone who took the time to participate in our first book chit chat. Now, let’s get into it!
Don’t believe in the hype. This book is not porn. Is there sex scenes? Yes. Is it graphic? Sometimes. Is it hardcore? Nah. Was I expecting it to be raunchy? Yes. This book was okay. As everybody knows, I felt that this book was super slow. I wished it wasn’t so boring in the beginning. I felt that the book really picked up after chapter 17. That’s more than halfway through the book. I did love the last 5 chapters of the book. Without those last 5 chapters, I would not continue on with this series.
As far as the characters, Christian is a huge mystery, which I like. Ana, well, I wouldn’t classify her as a “round” character, but she is not “flat” at the same time. She is an in-between character for me. Honestly, I think a huge reason why this book kept me interested is Christian’s mystery persona. Without that, I don’t think this book would be so popular. I’m going to be honest, I want a man like Christian, maybe not as controlling. I don’t wish to be like Ana, tho. She doubts herself too much for my liking.
Illusyon and I made a podcast on our thoughts. It’s quite funny and there is some fighting. I promise you, no one got hurt.
Stay tuned for our next book, which will be announced later today!
