29 years ago today, I decided to kick and scream my way into the world at 2:13 AM in the morning. It’s my birthday, and turning 29 has been a mix of emotions. I am happy to survive this long in my life. For some odd reason when I was younger, I thought I would die young, you know, the 27 Club. Luckily, I have survived that hurdle and now I envision my life ending somewhere in my 90′s. With that said, I am not ready to say goodbye to my wild 20′s. I feel like as a 29 year old, that I am not as accomplished as most (if not all) 29 year olds. I am not married or have any kids. I am still in school and not working my career job. I still live at home and can barely pay all my bills with one paycheck. Financially, I feel like I’m a 16 year old and psychologically, I feel like I’m 22, okay maybe 24.
I’ve decided that to help me accept my last year of my twenties, I want to accomplish 30 things before I turn 30. I have exactly a year, so wish me luck!
My classmate Larry has inspired me to skydive. He has an awesome skydiving blog, where he share his and others “firsts” in skydiving. I’m pretty scared of “letting go,” which is why I want to do it. I don’t like fear, so to overcome that I have to just do it!
2. Lose 30 pounds and keep it off forever
I’ve always been the skinny girl, and now that I am not, it’s been hard to deal with this body that I feel like is not mines. Technically, I’m in the obese category because of my BMI. I need to lose weight not only for my appearance, but for my health too. My family has a history of heart disease and diabetes. I don’t want that at all. Who knows, I could have it right now.
3. Return to Muay Thai
I’ve already written about Muay Thai before, but now it’s time to do it!
